4TH SEMESTER - The Terralien


               

       The Terralien — (Terrain + Alien):
An Intra-Epiterranean1 (extruded out from the earth; a subdivisioned growth derived from the planet) Superorganism2 (qualities of a living breathing organism; upscaled fractally ...) that can act as a synergistic host with lower-scale species/organisms—plants/animals—i.e. a coral reef [for humans], etc.


       We are multidimensional, gestalt beings. We are unbounded—the boxes that we pervasively grow up through subliminally tackle our infinite abilities and knocks them into illusionary confines—we bask too often in traditional architecture. The systems of architecture, neurologically-speaking, are abysmally archaic—we reference too much of what is traditional and conservative: we, in those ages that we reference, looked solely at fulfilling our lowest needs of survival—providing warmth, safety, etc. We have surpassed those preliminaries in Maslow’s diagram—We now must supersede; progress to the next tiers. We should look at enabling more flow from which categorical boxes are unable to do, as they obfuscate reality—physically, and eventually cascading mentally—creating finite faces and strict boundaries; We need to develop more self-reliance and self-sustainability through uncapping potential both inside and out of form—ignite a epoch of smartly-gained cognitive liberation; make people aware that there is not a limit to thought, as our true abilities lie outside of a arbitrarily chosen system of a cubed reality..

       We live amongst forms, we act on and react to things whilst shrouded and compassed by them. Shelter is a human necessity—what portion of this contributes to our mindlessness or ill-minded thinking? Maybe we have too much going on; too many predetermined assets that obstruct our unique manifest-yearning view of the world, causing us to fall in to tribalistic and egoistic states. Presently, the grand scheme of general architecture does not consider, think, and act in the synergistic relation of neuroscience and psychology—completely silly. We add so much into architecture to act as remedy to what we think will help the mind and body subtract the negative … The real present presence of it falls into a paucity—pulpy dregs of an idea that someone had. We don’t think about the constraints/corner we have put ourselves into through the rabit hole of building codes… It scares and intimidates aspiring inchoate designers who are teasingly unbounded by the torrents of evolution. Are there obscurantic features that hinder us from optimal states of being? Could there be a design-based apocatastasis of dissolution of negative human behaviors, that run rampant and contribute to a degradation of our system that we just mark as just was is. Could there be implementations that provides heightened cognitive function, creativity, and conscientiousness, that also represent at the same time a dissolving of cognitive biases/ego-awareness and awareness of shallow perspective that burdens people to wind off the true direction of their work and absorption. All should be realized that they are the roots of major problems in our society—this project seeks out to find alternatives in form that can invigorate potential. This is a study through the relationship of the mind and form to determine if—through certain structure/form design, and establishing this concept in the most holistically erudite-needed department of the human race: the Early-Education System.
