PROCEDURAL DOWEL CONJOINER 



Referencing trees and other natural/plant phenomena of grafting and inosculating, this project was to seek to asymptotically recreate the logic of nature and it not being bound to grid-base parameters; and to cater to individuals who perchance require more percise and aberrant joints/interlocking systems for their projects. 

The procedure in grasshopper allows you to input any diameter, or dimensions, of piping/rod or beam, to which modified metaball formulas bind to each geometric entity, reacting accordingly and respectfully to each of the specified initial geometry nodes—which can be crafted in 3D space and implanted into the code. The algorithim then runs and presents a live-time, updating bubbly wrap structure around the initial specified geometries that responds to the local environment in the form of metaball charges/their field magnitivity; and can be tailored to any resolution and shape and/or size.

The outcome when baked reaps a clean dimensionally accurate and ready-to-go model that can be 3D printed upon export.
